07:45 AM - 9:30 AM – Registration and Breakfast
08:30 AM - 9:15 AM – Breakfast Keynote: How To Become a Brand Ambassador, Make Money, and Become a Better Blogger with Dino Dogan, Founder of Triberr

In the last 6 months, Dino Dogan has hired more than 1000 bloggers to become paid representatives for some of the biggest brands in the world.  You might think that you need an insane amount of traffic, a ton of social media followers, or mad luck, to be selected to work with brands like TOMS Shoes, Godiva, Kimberly-Clark, Almay, etc.  Traffic, followers, and luck, are nice, but not required.

What IS required is creative talent. The ability to write compelling content. And most of all, your willingness to work collaboratively with other bloggers to deliver the best possible campaign you can.  But most importantly, you have to get past guys like Dino. In this session, you will learn exactly how to present yourself so that you too can finally make a living blogging.

09:15 AM - 10:00 AM – How to Get on PR Companies’ Radar by Lisa Pedersen

10:30 AM - 11:15 AM – Parenting – Animated with JC Little

JC is a mom. Of three teenagers. She knows.

JC Little of The Animated Woman reads a series of amusing and poignant illustrated mostly true parenting stories which have appeared on her blog. The emotional thread running through each story is identified and explored through some of the comments left by readers.  Genuine emotional communication is a way to seek common ground with others – respectfully engaging people through empathy is humanizing. The takeaway from this entertaining and thought-provoking session is that an emotional connection brings us together with others and adds value and meaningfulness to our lives.

02:15 PM - 3:00 PM – The New Art of Storytelling – Creating Compelling Content and Engaging A Community on Social Media by Vanessa Chiasson

Buying followers – purchasing ads – gaming the social media system: there are tons of articles on how you can increase your audience with a few simple clicks and, of course, just a few dollars. But a successful social media platform is not built on clicks and bucks – it’s built with compelling stories, engaged audiences, and lots of hard work.

This presentation will help the audience craft creative, compelling, memorable, and meaningful content and build a loyal, engaged social media membership – without tacky tricks or sleazy selling techniques.

This presentation will detail:

  •  Current trends in social media -where is it going, what’s changing, and what does it mean for a blogger?
  • Making sense of all the hard work: aka how to create a social media calendar and track your work
  • Creating social media content – how to tell a story in 140 characters and make any post memorable.
  • Engaging your audience – building a loyal community that comes back for me and inspires YOU with their interactions
  • Keeping the balance – preventing problems, knowing where “the line” is, and keeping sane in a fast moving world.
